Margherita Cadeddu

Margherita Cadeddu is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and is the Head of Service for General Surgery at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. Her areas of interest include foregut minimally invasive surgery, advanced endoscopy, and minimally invasive colorectal surgery. She is the Associate Director of CMAS at St. Joseph's Healthcare.
Margherita completed her medical school and general surgery residency at the University of Western Ontario, and fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Toronto. Her research interests includes surgical outcomes and statistics, which has been in conjunction with SOURCE, a group whose focus is evidence-based surgery and outcomes research, as well as advanced endoscopic techniques. She works with the St. Joseph’s ON-SQIN (Quality Improvement Network) team on quality improvement measures to improve care of the surgical patient and is an examiner for the Royal college General Surgery final exams.
