Learning Objectives

  • Introduction to basic principles, techniques, results and complications of laparoscopic transperitoneal and retroperitoneal renal, adrenal, prostate and bladder surgery.
  • Introduction to advanced laparoscopic surgery
  • Acquisition of laparoscopic skills necessary for lap urologic surgery using latest computer modules and bench models.
  • Practicing of acquired skills during wet lab session
  • Exposure to urologic robotic surgery using latest technology with simulators and diVinci trainer.

7am - Registration
7:30 - Presentation by Faculty Speakers
10:30 - Dry Skills Lab
1:30pm - Wet Lab session
5:00pm - Wrap up

Great session today. Lots of learning opportunities for me given that my exposure to laparoscopy has been limited. Great to be able to practice in wet lab to have a sense of what to expect in reality.
