Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to incorporate the following important behaviours and practice guidelines into their clinical practice:
- discuss the principles of trocar incision and diagnostic laparoscopy
- to understand principles, techniques, results and complications of advanced laparoscopic surgery
- to identify limiting factors for laparoscopic colectomy, bariatric surgery, and foregut surgery
- to learn the surgical skills and techniques required to safely and effectively perform laparoscopic surgery
- to keep current with peer-reviewed literature relevant to the course topic
